WHO - Adult leaders 

Minimum Adult Leader Requirements:

Registered member of the BSA 

Physically fit (strict BSA High Adventure guidelines will apply)

At least 21 years of age

Compete Youth Protection Training

Desired Qualifications:

Crew or contingent leader experience

Good recruiter

Organized

***This is an application. All Adult leaders must be approved by the Narragansett Council Summit 2020 committee. If for any reason your application is not accepted, a full refund will be provided.***

Payment Schedule 

$1600.00

Due at registration: $550.00

Payment 2 - Due May 1, 2020: $550.00 

Final Payment - Due June 15, 2020: $500.00

Registration Instructions (Print and save!): Registration and payment MUST be made with our online system. This helps us keep administrative costs for the Summit low. Scouts and Parents should complete this process together. 

You must create an account first  when you click on register it will prompt you to create one if you don't have one. You may pay via Visa, Mastercard, Discover or from your Checking or Savings Account.

After you register, you can log-in to your account to make payments. To do that log-in and click on "My Information" and then "View Registrations" and "View Details" then you may update your information or make a payment.

The $550 deposit is due at the time of registration. You may log-in AT ANY TIME to make additional payments, but keep in mind the deadlines listed above. For example, you may choose to make a payment of $100 per month instead of a lump sum payment of $500. An Email reminder will be sent 30 days prior to each payment deadline.

WHAT - Situated in the wilds of West Virginia, the Summit Bechtel Reserve is a training, Scouting, and adventure center for the millions of youth and adults involved in the Boy Scouts of America. Summit programs take Scouts and Venturers to the limits of what they think they can do, and pushes them further. In addition The Summit is also home of the National Scout Jamboree.

The Narragansett Council is excited to send a contingent of Scouts and adults to the Summit in 2020. Those Scouts will participate in the Summit Experience. The Summit Experience is a broad interest high adventure program for participants that want to try everything. Spend a half day at each of The Summit’s adventure sports venues – The Canopy, The Rocks, Low Gear, The Park, The Trax, The Bows, The Barrels, Bravo Lake Kayaking, white water rafting, The Ropes and a service project. Summit Experience groups will also get a thrilling ride down the 3100-foot BIG ZIP!

SAMPLE SUMMIT EXPERIENCE ITINERARY (Exact days and activities subject to change)

DAY 1 Arrival/Check-in/Camp @ Christen HAB Base Camp.

DAY 2 Half-day activities of each - The Trax & The Park

DAY 3 Half-day activities of each - The Rocks & Canopy

DAY 4 Half-day activities of each - Service & Lake or White-water Rafting

DAY 5 Half-day activities of each - Ropes/Zip & Low Gear

DAY 6 Half-day activities of each - The Bows & The Barrels

DAY 7 Departure Day

***The Narragansett Council is looking for dynamic adult leaders who are excited and able to help lead the Summit 2020 Council contingent. Adult leaders will work with the Summit 2020 committee to assist in planning, promoting and facilitating a fun and safe adventure.***

WHERE - The Summit Bethel Reserve in Glen Jean West Virginia.

Departure and arrival details will be finalized close to the event. Participants should plan on leaving from Rhode Island (via coach bus) early on the morning of July 19, 2020 for arrival in West Virginia that evening. Departing from the Summit on July 25, 2020 for arrival in Rhode Island that evening.
