Trainer's EDGE
WHO - The course is designed for individuals who will be delivering training to adults and youth leaders in all parts of the Scouting program:
• District and council trainers
• Merit badge counselors -- including summer and winter camp staff
• Roundtable staff members
• Pack trainers
• Commissioner Trainers
• NYLT & Wood Badge staff
• Troop guides or instructors
• Unit Leaders
• Just about anyone!
WHAT - Trainer's EDGE is BSA's trainer development course designed to help Scouters put into practice the EDGE training model and gain self-confidence through hands-on training experiences. Trainer's EDGE brings to life the EDGE model taught in Troop Leadership Training, Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster Specific Training, National Youth Leadership Training, and Wood Badge.
WHERE - The Virtual Trainer’s EDGE course will be completed on-line on February 13, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM. You and many of your fellow Scouts and Scouters will use your home computers or i-pad to participate ‘virtually’ through the internet using an online program called ZOOM.
A Zoom invitation to sign on to the course will be sent to you prior to the course.
WHY - Preparing for the course is easy. You need to watch two videos on YouTube, print nine handouts, gather a few other supplies, and find a quiet place in your home where you can join the training program. During the course, you will participate individually, and in small ‘break-out’ groups. You will have the chance to talk with other Scouters, as well as the facilitators who will be leading the meeting. Scouting U had asked the NYLT Leadership Academy to coordinate the facilitators.
