Virtual Camping Merit Badge presented by Adventure Base Camp

Who: Open to all Scouts BSA members.

What: Camping is an essential part of the BSA program.  In fact, three fourths of Scouting is “outing.”  Lord Baden Powell encouraged every Scout to learn the art of living “out-of-doors.” He believed a young person who could take care of himself while camping would have the confidence to meet life’s other challenges, as well. This Eagle required merit badge focuses on the skills, knowledge, and mindset needed to make camping safe and fun. Of all the things you can take into the woods, the most important is knowledge. With good planning and preparation, you will have everything you need—both in your pack and in your head—to make your camping adventure a success.

Where:  The Merit Badge will be taught in a virtual classroom.

Before beginning work on any merit badge, Scouts are to have a discussion with their unit leader regarding the specific badge and counselor.

WHEN: This class will be held virtually over two sessions:

April 28, 2021 6:00PM - 8:00PM EST

April 30, 2021 6:00PM - 8:00PM EST

Scouts must attend both sessions to complete the offered requirements.

After registering, Scouts will receive a link and login information via email the day of the scheduled class. Within 2-4 weeks following completion of the class Scouts will receive a digital blue card with all requirements completed in class signed off.
