Webelos O Ree at Yawgoog
WHO - This event is for Webelos Scouts and their adult partner(s). This event is also for Scouts BSA members participating with their Troop.
- We are looking for a number of Host Troops for this exciting Webelos event! Host Troops will run an activity station and will host a number of Webelos for Dinner on Saturday night.
- Units will be assigned camp sites in Medicine Bow. Troops will be able to check in beginning at 5:00 PM on Friday. We are asking that troops be prepared to serve as host for Webelos and parents attending for dinner on Saturday night.
WHAT - Webelos-O-Ree is a special annual camporee held exclusively for Webelos and their adult partners. This event serves to introduce Webelos to the excitement and adventure that awaits them when they cross over into a Scouts BSA troop. They will have a full day of fun on Saturday, visiting event stations featuring Scout skills like fire building, cooking, first aid, knots, shooting sports, and more.

- Follow the signs at the front gate of camp to check-in and parking.
WHY - Webelos O Ree is a first chance for Webelos to camp with the Scouts!
- Webelos Scouts can camp as a patrol with a host Scout Troop,
- Webelos Scouts will learn Scout skills from Scouts while having fun with competitions and activities on Saturday.
- Webelos Scouts will experience the thrill of preparing meals and camping with a host Troop.
- Food will be provided by your host Troop for Saturday night's supper.
- The Saturday night campfire will include skits and songs.
- Parents of Webelos Scouts will learn about transitioning to Scouts BSA and tips on what to look for in a Scout Troop.
WHEN - Friday September 27th - Sunday September 29th
- Program begins Saturday and ends by 12 noon on Sunday
- Check-in will begin at 8 am on Saturday morning. Scouts will be assigned by Cub Pack and District.
HOW -
- Scouts should be prepared for fall weekend camping including a tent, as well as proper clothing and gear.
- Class A field uniforms should be worn by all Scouts, Webelos, and Scouters for:
- Lunch and breakfast in the dining hall, as is Yawgoog tradition
- Scout’s Own reverence service and closing ceremony on Sunday
- Scouts serving as Troop Guides in class A from check-in thru closing flag
- Class B activity shirts are acceptable for event stations, campfire, and at campsite
- Troops and Webelos Teams will be provided Saturday Lunch & Sunday Breakfast. Saturday dinner will be provided by the host troops.
- We suggest that you make contact with the Pack that your Webelos crossover from.
