It’s been a busy rally season for Units in the Massasoit District. Most of you have already heard the wonderful news: our District has already reached its membership goal for year-end! I have been doing this job for nine rally seasons now and have NEVER seen this before!!! This does not mean that we sit back and relax now….on the contrary, we need to continue this positive momentum and show the Council that the Massasoit District is number 1! Please continue to recruit and pass in your new boy applications ASAP and we will close out this year with a total in membership that no one would have considered possible! Thank you for all your hard work!

“Footsteps of Our Founders” Historic Trail Rededication, 20^th Anniversary:

Please mark your calendar and save the date: October 18, 2008, 2pm at the Granada Plaza, across from the Fall River Government Center. This is our very own trail listed on the National Directory! Please see attached flyer for more information.

 

Please return your Popcorn ASAP:

If you ordered Popcorn for your show and sell and you have completed your sale days and you don’t need the popcorn, please return it as soon as possible.  Other units are having great success with it and need more product.   Don’t forget, the online sale is really easy…..

 

“Drive for Five”…...Cub Scouts that is:

If your Pack registers 5 more “new” Scouts by October 28th than it did in the Fall of 2007, your Pack will be entered in a lottery to receive a complimentary session at Cub World for the Summer of 2009.  Congratulations, already to Pack 15 Fall River, Pack 63 Westport and Pack 100 Westport! The maximum number of participants for the session is 48.

 

Recruiting tools:

Now that our rallies are in full swing we need to think about October.  Attached is an invitation for your cub scouts to bring to school to invite their friends to a pack meeting or pack event.  Please take the time or have someone in your pack print them out and hand them out at your next pack meeting with the information on it.  Your Cubs should then bring them to school and give them to their friends.  (invitation.pdf)

 

Scouting For Food:

I will have SFF bags available at our October Roundtable. After that, you may pick them up at the Swansea Scout Shop and Service Center.

Do a good turn daily!
