Schedule
your Friends of Scouting Presentation today!
The true cost of Scouting is greater than the $10 registration fee, dues your pack, troop or crew may require and the fee charged for camp. Registration fees and camping costs are kept low so all youth can experience the fun and excitement of the Scouting program. Family FOS ensures that quality Scouting can happen for our Scouts by supporting the cost of camp upkeep and expansion, training of adult leaders, advancement record keeping, professional staff guidance, two great customer service centers, program support and more! Venturing-
What’s the Fuss about?
Are you having trouble keeping your older scouts in your Troop engaged and interested in Scouting? Are boys leaving your Troop because they are looking for something more to entice them? Venturing could be the answer to your worries!
Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age.
Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.
Venturing is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth, adult leaders, and organizations in their communities. Local community organizations establish a Venturing crew by matching their people and program resources to the interests of young people in the community. The result is a program of exciting and meaningful activities that helps youth pursue their special interests, grow, develop leadership skills, and become good citizens.
Venturing crews can specialize in a variety of avocation or hobby interests.
To learn more about Venturing give me a call or send me an e-mail and we can talk about the possibilities of adding a Venturing Crew in your community.

Welcome to the 21st year of Scouting for Food!!!
The bags are already in and will be made available prior to the October roundtable on Tuesday October 14th.
Once again, Walgreens is our major sponsor and has donated the bags we will be using.
I am presently putting your territories on the maps from the different communities in Shawomet District. I prefer to keep any pack and troop with the same area as in the past, unless this is a problem.
Bag Distribution is: Saturday October 25th
Bag Collection is: Saturday November 1st
Please take the filled bags to your same collection sites as last year.
Once again, I would like to THANK-YOU in advance for the wonderful job you do in getting this much needed "Good Turn" done.
Any questions let me know.
Yours in Scouting,
Brenda Denette

Popcorn
Info
How would you like to show support to our Troops all over the world and make some money for your Pack, Troop or Crew? We are offering a package to send a selection of popcorn to troops overseas. It is handled in the same way as the take order. You take the order and collect the money and Trail End puts it all on a pallet and ships it via Military transport (which they get charged for) overseas to every oversea base.
Another way to make easy money is the E-sale. No longer do you have order cases of popcorn. Prospective customers (read as Grandma in Florida) can order only what they want and it will be shipped directly to them. If your scouts and adults sent an email to everyone in there address book with the web address www.orderpopcorn.com and the unit’s or Scout’s individual popcorn ID number.
