NE-I-270: Sept/Oct 2010

The next Wood Badge course being offered by Narragansett Council, is NE-I-270, it is scheduled for Sept/Oct of 2010. The first weekend will be September 17th through the 19th, at Camp Yawgoog in Rockville, RI. The second weekend will be October 9th through the 11th, at Buck Hill Reservation in Pascoag, RI.

Both weekends will begin at 7:30 AM and end during the late afternoon on the last day. Between the weekends, participants will attend two meetings at a time and location determined by their groups.

The cost is $230.00. This fee includes all course materials, all meals, snacks, course t-shirt and course hat. Troop and Patrol pictures will be made available at $10.00 per picture.

Attendance Requirements
To be able to attend this course, participants must be registered with the BSA and fully trained for their registered position. Anyone 18 years or older is welcome and encouraged to attend Wood Badge - Cub Scout Pack Leaders, Boy Scout Troop Leaders, Venture Crew Officers and Advisors, Varsity Team Leaders, as well as District and Council scouters are welcome!
BSA Annual Health and Medical Record
All Wood Badge participants must turn in a completed Annual Health and Medical record (All three parts, A, B and C, must be completed) prior to taking the course.
Recommended Equipment
Participants should come with appropriate gear for a weekend of camping. All nights will be spent outdoors and the weather can be unpredictable, so be prepared!

Official BSA Uniform
Participants should wear the official field (aka, Class A) uniform for their registered position to the Wood Badge course. Uniforms include a Scout shirt, pants, belt, cap, and socks. Proper insignia placement for male and female uniforms is expected (See this guide from more information).  More than one shirt and pair of pants is recommended, and make sure to bring appropriate footwear! A course T-shirt will be provided.
Pre-Course Assignment
There is a short assignment that should be done by participants prior to the Wood Badge course. The assignment is a list of twenty questions that help the participant identify their place and role within the Scouting program. Please print this out, complete it, and bring it to the first weekend of Wood Badge. This assignment won't be handed in or shared with other participants, so be honest with yourself!
