Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews (ILSC) (Virtual)

WHAT - The purpose of the Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews course is to teach crew members with leadership positions about their new roles and how to most effectively reach success in that role. It is intended to help Venturers in leadership positions within their crew understand their responsibilities and to equip them with organizational and leadership skills to fulfill those responsibilities. Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews is the first course in the series of leadership training offered to Venturers and is a replacement for the Venturing Leadership Skills Course. Completion of Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews is a prerequisite for Venturers to participate in the more advanced leadership courses National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) and the National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience (NAYLE). It is also required for Kodiak.

Meet your Instructor - Linda Norton and Carol Feeney have conducted many Venturing training courses and are well versed in the Venturing program. Linda and Carol are both Wood Badge trained and have served on the Wood Badge Training staff.

WHO - This class is open to youth members who are 14 years of age or older. 

WHEN: This class will be held virtually over two sessions:

January 23, 2021 1:00PM-4:30PM EST.

January 24, 2021 1:00PM-4:30PM EST.

Participants must attend both sessions to complete the class. 

HOW - This Training/Workshop/Class will be taught in a virtual classroom. The class has a capacity of 20 participants. Small classroom size provides all students with the opportunity to share and interact with the presenter and other participants. Students should be prepared to be challenged and to join the conversation!
