Wilderness Survival Merit Badge presented by Adventure Base Camp

Who: Open to all Scouts BSA members.

To participate all Scouts must complete Narragansett Council COVID-19 Waiver. This form is required at check-in. Scouts without a completed Covid-19 Waiver will not be able to participate.

What: Scouts working on the Wilderness Survival merit badge learn to anticipate and avoid the hazards involved in backcountry adventures. They put together a first aid kit and build a natural shelter. They also learn how to treat water, be aware of weather conditions, and light a fire without matches.

Class size is limited to 10 Scouts to ensure that safety protocols are followed and that all Scouts have opportunities to participate and interact with other Scouts and counselors. Adult leadership is provided by Adventure Base Camp staff and all youth protection guidelines are followed. The safety and priority of our Scouts, their families, our staff and community are priority. We have developed specific protocol to ensure the safety and health of all. Events are subject to change depending on COVID-19  guidelines or weather.
