IOLS - Adult Leader Training
WHO - Required outdoor training for all Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, Varsity Coaches and Venturing Leaders.
WHAT - Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills - The skills taught are based on the outdoor skills found in the Scouts BSA handbook. Outdoor skills are critical to the success of the Scouting program.

WHY - IOLS will provide leaders with the basic skills and information needed to start a program right. This course focuses on skills that build confidence and competence in leaders conducting outdoor camping experiences.

Recommended items for an overnight campout include:
- tent (if there is a problem with sleeping in a tent please let us know)
- sleeping bag
- sleeping pad
- ground cloth (old shower curtain works well)
- backpack
- flashlight
- camping chair
- mess kit (cup, spoon, fork, knife, plate, bowl)
- sun protection
- camera
- personal hygiene items
- change of clothes
- scout uniform
- scout handbook
- rain gear
- water bottle
- notebook, pen or pencil
You don't need to be camping at Yawgoog during the week to attend. This training is open to any registered leader.
