2014 High Adventure at the Summit
Come on down and enjoy the first council High Adventure Trek to the Summit! Once we arrive, you will spend a few days at Christen High Adventure Base will the staff works on your kayaking skills and prepares you for the challenge to go down the New River. Then, from there you will head to the New River Gorge for three days of river paddling on one of the oldest rivers in the world. During your first two days in kayaks, you will have periods of quiet water interspersed with Class I to Class III rapids. You will spend each night at one of our river camps. Then, you will conclude your river trip with a heart pounding raft run on the Lower New that includes Class III to Class V rapids. All participants must be good swimmers and must pass the BSA swim test.

Once the trek is full we will accept names for a waiting list.
Requirements:
All Participants must meet the BSA Body Mass Index (BMI) guidelines as stated on the BSA medical form. There are no exceptions.Youth participants must be 14 years of age OR completed 8th Grade and be at least 13 years of age prior to participation. Please do not request or expect exceptions. Requirements for Summit participation cannot be relaxed. Adults must be registered leaders, SM/ASM & Youth Protection Trained, and in excellent physical shape.
