Cub Scout Iditarod
WHO - This event is for Cub Scouts and their families.
WHAT - The Cub Scout Iditarod (formerly the Cub Scout Klondike Derby) is an annual winter event based on the heritage and history of the Alaskan Gold Rush and the trials of the great dog sled racers of the Iditarod. The event is designed for sled teams to go from station to station with a traditional Klondike sled to test their skills and leadership ability in the outdoor winter environment.
WHERE - Camp Norse - 112 Parting Ways Road Kingston, MA 02364
Check-in located in the Admin Building, which is located next to the parking lot.
Parking available after entering Camp Norse's main gate, you will see a house and a metal maintenance building on your left. Keep driving under the stone archway. To the left is a large parking lot- that is where you leave your car for the duration of the event.
WHY - The Iditarod will give Cub Scouts the opportunity to work on outdoor survival skills- particularly those required for winter conditions as well as the opportunity to work as a team at various stations and activities throughout camp. Cub Scouts will leave camp with a patch to show off their accomplishments!
