Adventure Day Camp is a great way for your child to experience the thrill of the outdoors while introducing them to independence without being too far from home. The week-long program fills each day with adventures like archery, BB, boating, swimming, crafts, outdoor cooking, fire-building, nature appreciation, and daily STEM projects. Campers are assigned staff-led groups of up to 15 youth of a similar age to ensure that each camper’s experience is appropriate for their age group. Families are invited to camp every Friday for a closing campfire program. Each week will offer a different theme to keep the excitement going all summer. This year’s theme is Lead with Curiosity. This summer’s 8 weekly themes include Blast from the Past, Shark Infested Waters, Survive and Thrive and more! So, take advantage of coming to camp for multiple weeks at a discounted rate.
Adventure Day Camp takes place 100% outdoors (except during inclement weather)! Each morning campers should arrive prepared for a day of awesome adventure. A typical day of Adventure Day Camp includes opening flag raising and camp announcements, swimming, BB, archery, boating, hands-on science experiments, lunch, outdoor skills lessons, and of course non-stop fun. Your camper will come home tired each day! All Day Camp staff are trained and certified in their position and have completed BSA youth protection training and background checks. Our camper-to-staff ratio is around 6:1 to ensure that each camper has the best experience possible. In addition, each camp has a certified health officer on-site at all times to provide camper care whenever it is needed. Parents are welcome to volunteer for their camper's week of camp and will receive a full refund for their child's camp fee upon completion of a full week (volunteers require the same training, background checks, and certifications as paid staff). Campers receive a free t-shirt and patch as part of their week of camp and will have the opportunity to purchase additional shirts and patches at checkout. The t-shirt is the Adventure Day Camp uniform! Campers are also responsible for providing their own lunch, water bottle, towel, sunscreen, etc. A complete packing list will be provided prior to your arrival at camp. Our camps include a trading post where campers can buy snacks, supplies, and Adventure Camp memorabilia.
We operate three great locations for Day Camp: Adventure Base Camp (Camp Champlin) (Weeks 1-9) in Cranston, RI, Camp Norse (Weeks 1-8) in Kingston, MA, and Camp Yawgoog (weeks 5,6&7) in Rockville, RI. Each week offers a different theme so your child can return for multiple weeks and keep the fun going all summer long!
