An Outdoor Adventure for Webelos Scouts, with or without their Den Leader!
Program opportunities will be provided for Webelos Scouts who will be attending 4th or 5th grade in the fall.
No camping experience is necessary. Just come with your personal equipment and your camping spirit. Our trained staff will take care of the rest.
IMPORTANT: Registration procedure - Webelos Scouts must register separately in order to attend. We suggest that Scouts try to schedule to attend together with their Pack or Den. This will enable Scouts to attend with their friends and will contribute to a more positive camp experience.
Sleeping Facilities: Everyone will sleep in six person tents on wooden platforms provided by the camp. Cots are also provided, so bring your sleeping bag and pillow and you're ready to relax and sleep.
Dining Facilities: Well balanced meals are served in the Medicine Bow Dining Hall.
Health & Safety: Safety is of the utmost importance at Yawgoog. Our health lodge is maintained by qualified personnel 24 hours a day. If necessary, Westerly Hospital is twenty five minutes from Yawgoog where we maintain an agreement to treat our sick and injured.
Personal Hygiene: Water, showers and private sanitary facilities are located close to the campsite.
Trading Post: Yawgoog Memorabilia, Uniforms and Uniform parts, Personal Hygiene supplies, Camping Equipment, Scouting Books, Cold Drinks, Snacks, T-shirts, and other Scouting equipment and souvenirs are available for purchase.
Half-week Option: In some cases the full week experience may be a little too long, especially for a scout who is going to camp for the first time, or sometimes the family may have scheduling conflicts. This year we will offer a HALF WEEK OPTION. Webelos may come in on Sunday evening and stay until Wednesday evening for a reduced fee. If the boy is having such a great time (which we are pretty sure he will) you can pay the difference of the fee prior to Wednesday night and stay the rest of the week! (Please note that half week sessions only run in the beginning of the week - Sunday through Wednesday)
How to Sign Up for Webelos Scout Outdoor Adventure: All Scouts must register individually. This may be done conveniently and securely. A confirmation letter and information packet with additional information regarding your Scout's camping experience will be sent to each parent/guardian according to the address on the individual application.
Webelos Den Leaders that attend with at least 4 boys from their Pack get to attend for Free!
