Unit and Membership Renewal

The Boy Scouts of America offers an online member and unit renewal process.  Listed below are several resources to assist with smooth and improved renewal processes.  All units and members currently registered with the BSA need to complete this process on a yearly basis.

The rechartering / renewal process is changing this year.

Please review the information below to understand the upcoming changes

In summary, the difference between the rechartering process is that unit renewal and member renewal will no longer be one and the same. Membership is now a set 12 month term from the time of registering regardless of when the unit renews.

Assistance

We are ready to help! Contact your commissioner or council staff member today.

Will you be chartered by the council in 2024? If so, check out the Council Chartered Unit Resources.

Membership Cards and Charter Certificates can now be printed by the unit!

Youth Protection

The primary goal of the Boy Scouts of America is the safety of youth. For that reason, all leaders are required to complete this training before they can be registered!

The Online Recharter System will not allow staff to process your charter with adults who do not have up-to-date Youth Protection Training. YPT reports can be pulled by your unit's Key-3 Leaders (unit leader, Charter Representative, and Committee Chair), their designated Delegate, or the Training Chair through My.Scouting.org

You will need to review the roster and inform individuals that they will need to take the Youth Protection Training if that YPT is set to expire during the new charter year. Direct them to the My.Scouting.org website and have them complete the training.
