Joining Conferences- Getting to know your Scouts


What: In this workshop you will learn the benefits of a Joining Conference and how to conduct one with new families and Scouts. Learn great ways to welcome new families and what makes each Scout unique in a relaxed, friendly and welcoming environment.

Why: Adding a Joining Conference is a great way to engage families and increase family and youth retention. 

How: This Training/Workshop/Class will be taught in a virtual classroom. 

When: May 17th from 7:00-8:00 pm

Meet the presenters: 

Kerrie Tehan is the mother of an Arrow of Light Scout and the committee chair for Pack 20 Johnston.  On a district level, she is the popcorn chair for the Northwest District. At the council level she is a member of the Narragansett Council’s Scouting for All Abilities team and a Leave No Trace Trainer.  Her hobbies include outdoor cooking, all types of arts & crafts, and gardening for butterflies.  Kerrie is a licensed mental health counselor with a background in art therapy and currently works in health insurance.

Dan Shea is the Southwest District Liaison for Scouting For All Abilities and a former Assistant Cubmaster, Advancement Chair and Den Leader for Pack 4 Gaspee.


This is a FREE workshop for all Adventure Card holders, but space is limited. Please register in advance to secure your spot.
