2012 Narragansett Council Championship Pinewood Derby

The top twelve (12) finishers from each Regional Pinewood Derby Race are invited to compete in the Narragansett Council Championship Pinewood Derby.

On race day, the car owner will be given a short time during the check in and car inspection period to make minor corrections to meet all the technical specifications. Car owners must supply their own tools.

The greatest number of rule violations in previous years has been the use of liquid lubricants, cars that exceed the 5-ounce weight limit, and cars with pointed front ends.

Speed axles and extreme axle modifications are prohibited.

The Championship Pinewood Derby is by advanced registration only. There are absolutely NO sign ups at the door.                                                        

Registrations are only accepted on the Narragansett Council Website

We do not handle cash at the event and we do not give refunds for any reason.  

Each Pack is required to send two Registered Cub Scout Leaders who will sit with their Cub Scouts for the entire race to insure proper Scouting behavior during the event.

The Cub Leader who completes the online registration is responsible for the Pack’s compliance to all the rules of the Narragansett Council Pinewood Derby Committee. This Cub Leader must attend the race and sign off on the below declarations:

By registering my Pack, I certify the listed Cub Scouts are duly registered with the Narragansett Council B.S.A. and I have personally inspected all Pinewood Derby Cars and certify that they meet the technical specifications of the Narragansett Council Pinewood Derby Committee. I have provided a copy of the Narragansett Coun: 0in 0in 0pt;"> I also understand that I am responsible if a Cub Scout from my Pack presents an illegal car for the technical inspection at the Narragansett Council Championship Pinewood Auto Race and is prohibited from the competition.

Please be aware your car must pass inspection again before racing in the Narragansett Council Championship.

We advise against buying speed axles or light weight modified wheels in an effort to increase the speed of your car.
