National Order of the Arrow Conference 2020

WHAT -  The National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) is the premier event of the Odrer of the Arrow, and is Scouting's second-largest national event.  Over 8,000 Arrowmen from across the nation gather both in person and virtually for an inspirational and unforgettable experience full of fellowship, training, adventure and fun!

WHY - To create fellowship with OA members Nationwide. In 2020 the Order of the Arrow will celebrate the National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) at Michigan University from August 3rd through August 8th, 2020.  NOAC is an awesome event attended by Arrowmen from all over the country.  Attendees will stay in the college dorm rooms and eat in the college cafeteria.  During NOAC attendees will have the opportunity to attend a wide range of training, outdoor adventure and activities, nightly shows, patch trading and much more.  

Narragansett Council (Tulpe Lodge) has received an allotted number of slots to attend NOAC in 2018.  We will be requesting additional slots, however, there is no guarantee that they will be granted.

WHO - Order of the Arrow Members - We anticipate that there will be a 3:1 Youth to Adult Ratio for Lodge Contingents. This ratio will not impact youth attendance. 

HOW - If you are interested in going to NOAC starting on March 1, 2019 you will be able to register on the Narragansett Council web site and make a $100 initial payment.  

The plan is to start to have monthly meetings starting in December 2019 to make plans for NOAC

The estimated cost for NOAC 2020 is $1,600.  This includes the NOAC conference fee, food, lodging and round trip transportation to NOAC.

**This is an estimated cost that includes travel, food and NOAC attendance fee.  This will be adjusted as we get closer and travel arrangements have been made and costs are finalized.  In 2018, we estimated the cost to be $1,500. AS a result of planning and fundraising efforts, the per person cost wa $1,225.

The plan is to fly out before the conference on Saturday, August 1, 2020 and stay at a local hotel and visit an amusement park. Meals, programming, and hotel stays are included in the cost. 

After you have registered for NOAC you will need to create a profile (if you don't already have one) on the Narragansett Council web page so that you can log-in to make periodic payments. This way you can track what you have paid and what you owe.

If you miss a payment next time you log-in all payments to that date will be due.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Once you make your first payment and sign-up you are committed to attend (no refunds). Unless we can find someone else to take your slot.  This is necessary as we are making payments for the NOAC conference fee, booking travel, etc. 

For those Scouts and adults that were not selected to attend NOAC your $100 deposit will be refunded
