We learned today that the Rhode Island Air Show has been cancelled. We know that many Scout units depend on the air show as a fundraising opportunity. The Narragansett Council is ready to assist those units in ensuring they have the necessary funds for their programs.

The Narragansett Council Popcorn Sale returns over 70% of the proceeds directly back to local Scouting. Last year local Scouts sold over $450,000 in popcorn. A few of the highlights of the Popcorn sale:

• No out of Pocket Expenses for Unit - Popcorn is distributed to your unit and you collect the money from the orders before you pay the Council for the popcorn. No waiting for the profits – you keep them when you collect for the orders.
• No Risk – If you don’t sell all of your Popcorn the Council will take it back, no questions asked, no penalties.
• You have a Support Team - The Narragansett Council is committed to making this campaign successful for everyone involved with your unit. The volunteer and professional support system is readily available to assist you with the tools you need to reach your goals.
• High Commissions - 35% of the proceeds of your sales go directly to your unit. Proceeds from the sale also help support the Council spend money on improving our camps and help to provide camperships

On May 21, 22 and 23 we are holding Popcorn training events across the Council. If you’d like more information it would be an excellent idea to attend one of the trainings to learn a little bit more what popcorn is all about.
