WHO - Scouts BSA aged event.
WHAT - Learn EVERYTHING about Fly-Fishing from some of the best fly-fishers in Rhode Island. We're partnering with the Wood Pawcatuck Watershed Association, Trout Unlimited, United Fly Tiers of RI and Fly-Fishers International to deliver this unique experience. Scouts will spend two days learning hands-on. Scouts will tie their own flies, and have a chance to catch fish using those flies! They'll even have the opportunity to cook and eat their catch! All requirements will be covered during the duration of this class.
- There are no prerequisites for this badge. All requirements will be covered during the two-day course
- All fishing gear is included.
WHERE - This is a two day class at two locations.
Day 1- April 15 @ Wood Pawcatuck Watershed Association. 203 Arcadia Rd., Hope Valley, RI 02832
Day 2- April 16 @ Camp Yawgoog- 61 Camp Yawgoog Rd, Rockville, RI 02873 (Day 2 Raindate- 4/18 @ Camp Yawgoog)
- Check-in location : Check-in at the WPWA office located next to the parking area
- Parking instructions : There is a parking lot at the WPWA campus directly off Arcadia Rd. Follow the signs to check in at Camp Yawgoog.
WHY - Fly-Fishing Merit Badge gives Scouts the opportunity to learn about fly fishing, fly tying, and fishing conservation from the best fly-tiers and fly-fishers in the region.

Scouts should dress for a day outdoors. Bring raingear and sunscreen, (just in case), sunglasses, hat and appropriate footwear (no crocs or open-toed shoes).
Scouts must bring their own lunch. A fridge is available.
Scouts must bring: a water bottle, pencil and paper, sunglasses, lunch, sunscreen, rain gear, and a completed WPWA waiver.
