Districts | Narragansett Council (redesign preview)

Which district is my town in?

The Council is split into five districts, each with local volunteers and staff who can help your family get started. Type your city or town to find yours.

New to Scouting? Here’s how it fits together

Your child joins a local group that meets nearby. That group belongs to a district, and every district is part of the Narragansett Council.

Council
The regional organization that runs camps like Camp Yawgoog, offers training and supports more than 200 local units.
District
A smaller area of the Council. Districts organize local events and connect families with units near them.
Unit
The group your child actually joins. A Pack is for Cub Scouts (kindergarten–5th grade), a Troop is for Scouts BSA (ages 11–17), and Crews and Ships serve older youth.

Who you’ll meet in your district

District Executive

A professional Council staff member and your best first contact. They help families find a unit and help new units get started.

District Chair

A volunteer who leads the district’s team, overseeing membership growth, fundraising and district events.

District Commissioner

A volunteer who supports unit leaders, making sure packs and troops have what they need to run a great program.

Our five districts

Four districts are based on where you live. The fifth, the 1910 District, serves units in our urban communities.
