Start Their Adventure

Join Scouting Night

Connect with local families, get your questions answered, and discover how Scouting builds character through fun and friendship.

The Join Scouting night gives parents and youth the opportunity to get to know Scouting at a personal level. Questions are answered, interest is built, and parents get to see how Scouting is for families “just like theirs.”

Keep the event fun and exciting. This not only makes it better for the parents attending, but also will make it easier for you, the organizer. Speak from the heart, don’t stress, and just enjoy the opportunity to introduce new parents to Cub Scouting.

Important Dates to Know

This fall, we need your help connecting with local schools before Sign-Up for Scouting Week, which begins the week of September 21, 2026. Working together, we can build excitement, strengthen community connections, and welcome new families to the adventure of Scouting.

Key Dates

  • Week of September 21, 2026: Every unit should host a Join Scouting Night during its regular meeting time.
  • September 26, 2026: Participate in our Council-Wide Sign-Up Day and help introduce Scouting to even more families.

Make Joining Easy

Families can sign up online through your unit’s BeAScout.org invitation link, giving them immediate access to Scouting resources and tools. Be sure to keep your BeAScout.org pin updated with the latest information about your unit, meeting location, and contact details.

Offer More Opportunities to Join

Don’t stop at just one recruiting event. Family schedules can be busy, so units are encouraged to host a Second Join Scouting Night to provide additional opportunities for interested families to get involved.
