Be A Scout Experience for Adults
The Be A Scout Experience (BASE), held on August 19, 2026, provided an overview of how Scouting delivers adventure, leadership development, character growth, and family engagement. It was designed to help volunteers better understand the Scouting program and the positive impact it has on youth throughout their Scouting journey. While the slide deck does not replace the valuable experience of attending the event in person, it serves as a useful reference containing tips, best practices, and key takeaways to help your unit’s program thrive and deliver an exceptional Scouting experience.
“Program” is the most visible part of Scouting. It encompasses every event a Scout attends and every award and advancement they receive. A strong program creates memorable experiences, builds leadership skills, encourages personal growth, and keeps Scouts engaged through adventure, service, and achievement.
