Every Scout starts somewhere
Somewhere in Rhode Island, along the South Coast of Massachusetts, or in Pawcatuck, Connecticut, a child is nervously packing tonight for their very first campout. They’ll come home a little muddier, a lot prouder, and with a story they’ll be telling for years.
Maybe they’ll learn to build a fire, paddle a canoe, or reach back to help a younger Scout who’s just as nervous as they once were. Moments like these don’t happen by accident. They happen because someone — a volunteer, a parent, a neighbor, a donor — believed that the young people in our communities deserve the chance to grow into confident, caring adults.
You don’t need to have ever worn the uniform to be part of that story. Your gift keeps our camps open, trains the leaders who keep kids safe, and helps families who need a hand say yes to adventure.
Thank you for helping a young person find their way.

Scouting is a youth program where kids and teens learn by doing — camping, hiking, community service, and leading their peers. The Narragansett Council is the local nonprofit office that runs Scouting in our region: it operates the camps, trains volunteers, and helps local groups get started.
Younger kids explore, build, and play in small groups called dens, with family involvement along the way.
