Getting started with membership
Apply online through BeAScout.org
Youth and adult unit-level applications are all handled online at BeAScout.org. There are no paper applications to track down.
Applying for a district or council position?
Contact your District Executive to get the correct application link. You can find district contacts on the Districts page.
Complete the CORI background check
The Narragansett Council requires an additional background check for adults,called the CORI check. The form and instructions are emailed to applicants as needed,and the check is only done together with an application.
Becoming a Merit Badge Counselor?
Register at the district level first,then submit the Merit Badge Counselor Info Sheetto the council. Registering at the district level must come first.

Keeping your unit’s membership current
Keep your BeAScout pin up to date
Your unit listing,called a “pin,”on BeAScout.orgshould always show the correct leader contact and meeting information. It is likely the first thing a family sees when they search online for how to join Scouting.
Leaders manage the pin through my.Scouting.org. See the online registration guidefor help managing your pin and using online registration.
Renew your unit and members
Review the annual renewal process so charters and registrations stay current.
Help families who need support
Families can request assistance with registration and program costs.
Add adults to your unit
Adult unit-level applications go through BeAScout.org. Remember that the CORI check is only completed together with an application.
Recruit new families
Plan your Sign Up for Scouting event and use the recruiting tools available to units.

Counselors register at the district level before the Info Sheet goes to the council.
