Eagle Scout Advancement Information

Welcome potential Eagle Scouts to the Online Eagle Packet.

This page has all of the information and resources you need to complete the Eagle process.

Step 1- Getting Started

Eagle Scout Process Instructions

This document provides a step-by-step guide to completing the Eagle Scout rank process. It is a valuable resource for Eagle mentors, parents, and Scouts working toward the rank of Eagle Scout.

Step 2- The Project

Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project Workbook

*This link is for the February 2023 version of the workbook. Project workbooks dated prior to 2019 will not be accepted. If an outdated workbook is submitted, the Scout will be required to complete the current version and resubmit it. Please ensure the current version is used to avoid delays in the process.

Eagle Scout Project Fundraising Application

Important fundraising note: GoFundMe and other crowdfunding platforms are not approved fundraising methods for Eagle Scout projects.

Step 3- The Rank Application Process

**NEW** The Eagle Scout Rank Application can be generated through Scoutbook with 4 easy steps. Click here for instructions

Eagle Scout Rank Application

Not all computers are compatible with the fillable PDF form. Please save the file before proceeding, save your work frequently, and print a copy of your completed application before closing the document.

Handwritten applications are discouraged. Whenever possible, please use the fillable PDF and type your application.

Please ensure that your Scout is using the current version of the application to avoid processing delays. Applications submitted on outdated forms will be rejected and must be resubmitted using the current version.

Reference Letter Request

The Scout should print one copy of the Reference Letter Request form for each reference listed on the Eagle Scout Rank Application and complete the required information. The Scout may deliver the requests to each reference but may not follow up regarding the status or content of the letter.

It is recommended that each request include a stamped envelope addressed to the Unit Scoutmaster or another designated unit adult. Electronic submissions are permitted only if confidentiality can be maintained throughout the entire process.

Reference letters must not be opened except by the Eagle Board of Review. An Eagle Scout application must not be held pending receipt of reference letters. All reference letters will be collected by the Council or District Representative during the Eagle Board of Review.

Reference responses are not to be viewed by, shared with, or returned to the Scout. This policy helps ensure honest and candid feedback. Individuals providing references do not have the option to waive confidentiality.

For additional guidance, please refer to pages 57 and 66 (section 9.0.1.7) of the 2025 Guide to Advancement
