Adventure Day Camp
A week outdoors with archery, swimming, boating and hands-on science for kids entering 1st–5th grade. Your child doesn’t need to be a Scout to come.

Day Camp is open to every family. Here’s what matters most depending on where you are.
First time? You’re in the right place.
- No membership, uniform or experience needed. Just register and show up ready for a day outside.
- Your camper gets a free camp t-shirt and patch. That shirt is the camp uniform.
- You’ll pay the general rate of $325 a week. Need help with cost? Apply for financial assistance.
- Want to visit first? Come to an open house and meet the staff.
- Loved camp? Find a Cub Scout Pack near you to keep the adventure going all year.
Welcome back, Scouts and families.
- Narragansett Council Scouts pay the member rate of $300 a week.
- Coming for several weeks? Package deals save up to $625.
- Parents who volunteer for a full week get their camper’s fee refunded. How it works.
- Leaders: book a camp presentation for your Pack meeting.
- Older Scouts can serve as Den Chiefs after the Den Chief training course.
What a day looks like
Camp happens 100% outdoors unless the weather turns. Campers are grouped with up to 15 kids their own age, each group led by trained staff. Expect a tired, happy kid at pickup.

Campers bring their own lunch and water bottle.

Fire-building, outdoor cooking, nature, crafts and a daily science project.

Or stay for extended care until 6:00 PM.
Fridays are for families. Join your camper for the closing campfire program at the end of every week.

Extended care isn’t offered on Friday afternoons or holidays.

Your price depends on whether your child is already a registered Scout in the Narragansett Council.

Safe hands, all day
Every staff member is trained and certified for their role, has completed Scouting America’s youth protection training, and has passed a background check.
What to pack
You’ll get a full packing list before camp. The basics:

- Sunscreen
- Camp t-shirt (we provide it)
- Spending money, optional
Each camp has a trading post selling snacks, supplies and camp souvenirs. Extra shirts and patches can be added at checkout.
Spend the week with us
Volunteer and your camper’s week is free
Parents can volunteer during their child’s week. Finish the full week and you’ll get a full refund of your camper’s fee. Volunteers complete the same training, background check and certifications as paid staff.
Volunteers must register online and follow National Camp Accreditation Program standard SQ-401. If you’re already registered with a Pack, Troop, Crew, Post or Ship, there’s no extra cost.

Questions families ask
Does my child have to be a Cub Scout?
No. Any child entering 1st through 5th grade can attend. Non-Scouts pay the general rate.
What does “Narragansett Council Scout” mean?
A council is the local Scouting America organization for a region. The Narragansett Council covers Rhode Island and nearby parts of Massachusetts and Pawcatuck, Connecticut. If your child is registered with a Pack in this council, they pay the member rate. Scouts registered with a different council, and children who aren’t Scouts, pay the general rate.
What’s a Pack?
A Pack is the local Cub Scout group your child would join, usually tied to a school, place of worship or community organization. Find one near you.
Can my child come for more than one week?
Yes, and many do. Every week has a different theme, and multi-week packages lower the cost.
What is extended care?
Supervised time before and after the regular 9–4 day. It runs 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (from 7:30 AM at Adventure Base Camp) and costs $65 a week. It isn’t available on Friday afternoons or holidays.
What happens if it rains?
Camp is designed to be outdoors, but staff move activities inside during inclement weather.
What is a Den Chief?
An older Scout who helps lead younger Cub Scouts. Scouts interested in helping at camp can take the Den Chief training course.
